BikeAthens hopes to build support for positive change but to do so we need your help. You can assist us by becoming a member, fixing bikes, volunteering to help stage an event, joining one of our listservs, displaying maps at your business, or simply promoting our organization by applying a sticker. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer.

Bicycle Recycling Program

Every Monday and Wednesday 6-8:30pm, and Sunday 2-4:30pm.
Holiday Bikes 4 Kids special extended hours:  Saturdays, Dec. 3, 10, & 17 only, 9:30am – 12:30am.
New volunteers encouraged to attend on Wednesdays.

Commuter Assistance Day at the Farmer’s Market

Tabling volunteers 8am – 10am, and 10am - 12pm, 3rd Saturday each month.  Located at the Bishop Park Farmer’s Market.  Resumes April, 2012.

Transportation Policy Committee

Forming Athens’ Complete Streets Policy and coalition now.  We meet on various Thursdays, in downtown Athens.  Contact policy@bikeathens.com directly for schedule.

Group Ride

Ride captains needed (wear a 3 feet to pass vest).  Refer to Group Ride program page for ride start/finish location each month.  Scheduled on first Friday of each month, 6pm until approximately 6:45/7:00pm, outside of daylight savings time.  Resumes March, 2012.

Athens Bike Map

Map distribution people needed.  Contact admin@bikeathens.com if you’d like to help distribute bike maps at your office, school, or organization.  Refer to link above for existing distribution points.
