BikeAthens is hosting a summer bike sale on Sunday, June 2^nd, from Noon-4:00pm! Rediscover the freedom of great bike! All our bikes are in great condition, having passed our 78 point checklist, multiple test rides, and in-house style guidlines. No, we’re not kidding – these are some good looking bicycles. Road, mountain, hybrid, and cruiser bikes available. 149 Tracy Street, in the Chase Park Warehouse district. Email brp@bikeathens.com for more information. BikeAthens is a non-profit organization dedicated to making walking, cycling, and transit an everyday solution to transportation needs in Athens. Our Bike Recycling Program (BRP) works with social support agencies in Athens to distribute reconditioned bikes to locals in Athens who are underserved by private and public transportation. Relying exclusively on volunteers, we host a few bike sales each year to cover costs.

Confident Cycling Class May 25th!

This weekend BikeAthens is offering a Confident Cycling class to get you ready for a summer of riding! Taught by our LCI-certified instructors, the class will cover basic skills needed to navigate local Athens roads. Perfect for beginner riders, but applicable for all skill levels, the Confident Cycling class is designed to develop your knowledge and expertise in the craft and science of bicycling. In the classroom, we will review traffic laws and basic emergency repairs (flat tires, brake adjustments, etc…). Then we’ll hit the road to master crash avoidance maneuvers. Other drills will refine your ability to confidently flow with traffic. At the end of class, you will synthesize all your new skills during a short, guided group ride through town. The class will be at HT Edward educational center from 8:30am-1pm on Saturday, May 25. Please bring a water bottle. All riders will need a helmet. If you don’t have one, let us and know and we can provide one. Space is limited so contact us atadministrator@bikeathens.com to reserve your spot!
